Fairfield House Vets is a proudly independent veterinary practice based in Uckfield, East Sussex. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and highly organised Practice Manager to join our friendly team. This is a hands-on managerial role within a busy mixed practice, overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of the business while supporting a positive working culture for our clinical and non-clinical teams.
You will work closely with the Senior Partner and managerial team to ensure the practice operates efficiently, professionally and in line with all regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations across reception, administration and clinical support teams
- Managing holiday planning and absence management
- Leading and supporting non-clinical staff, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management
- Maintaining high standards of client service and handling feedback or complaints sensitively
- Supporting financial management, budgeting and KPI monitoring
- Ensuring compliance with RCVS standards, GDPR and Health and Safety requirements
- Co-ordinating facilities management, equipment servicing and IT support
- Promoting a positive, supportive workplace culture that is focused on wellbeing and teamwork.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced manager within a veterinary practice or else, healthcare, or another fast-paced client-facing environment
- A confident people manager with strong communication and organisational skills
- Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
- Financially aware and comfortable working with budgets and reporting
- Passionate about delivering excellent service and supporting animal welfare
- Familiar with HR processes, compliance and operational management
Experience within a veterinary or RCVS-regulated environment would be advantageous.
The job will be a 4-day week position based on site in Uckfield, East Sussex.
