This practice is looking for a professional, focused and highly motivated individual to join their leadership team.
You will need to be confident in leading a team and working on your own, able to think outside of the box and solve complex problems. My client is looking for someone who has the ability to support the team and develop the practice, who is a strong but empathetic leader.
Your responsibilities will include undertaking 1-1s, performance reviews, appraisals and mentoring all staff under your management. You should host regular management meetings including minute taking and ensuring all staff are aware of actions. You will oversee the rota for the nursing and admin teams as well as manage holiday requests.
You will monitor and manage absences including back to work meetings, oversee new staff inductions with probation period reviews and will work with the lead vet to ensure is health and safety compliant and performing profitably.
Previous knowledge of the veterinary industry is desirable but not essential but you should have management experience of maximising performance of individuals and teams. You should also possess the ability to communicate confidently with people of all levels, able to have difficult conversations, particularly HR or performance related. Be skilled in prioritising your workload and an excellent problem solver. The ideal candidate will have a management degree or equivalent experience of 3 or more years.
