Group Practice Manager (Maternity Cover, 9-12 months) – VetPartners North Cheshire
Salary up to £36 to £40k per annum (pro-rata) - Depending on experience

A brand-new opportunity to help shape and support the performance, people, and future of a multi-site veterinary group.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis.
This is a key leadership support role, working across multiple sites to help drive operational excellence, strong team engagement, and outstanding client care.
You will work closely with Branch Leadership teams to ensure practices run smoothly, teams are supported, and high standards are consistently maintained across the group.
About the Role

As Practice Manager you will play a vital role in ensuring this standard is delivered across all locations. You will support teams, strengthen communication, and help maintain efficient and well-run practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Branch Leadership teams to support productivity and performance
- Support workforce planning, rota coordination, and resource allocation
- Oversee absence, holiday planning and workforce records
- Support recruitment, onboarding and induction processes
- Deliver appraisals, 1:1s, mentoring and performance support
- Identify training needs and support development plans
- Improve engagement through regular meetings and communication
- Support staff wellbeing and team culture initiatives
- Liaise with Central Support Office to ensure clear communication flow
- Act as a super-user for the Practice Management System
- Ensure accurate data management and reporting
- Support compliance with RCVS standards and internal policies
- Oversee internal and external communications and marketing support
- Support brand consistency and local reputation building
- Identify operational challenges and recommend improvements
About You - We’re looking for someone who is:
- An experienced leader or practice manager with strong people skills
- Confident in coaching, mentoring and developing teams
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and priorities
- IT confident and able to work with digital systems and data
- Calm, professional and solution-focused in a busy environment
Experience in a veterinary or clinical environment is essential. Knowledge of HR processes, RCVS standards, or practice management systems would be highly beneficial.
