We are delighted to be representing a friendly and well-established small animal practice near Beckenham, Kent, as they search for a dedicated Veterinary Care Assistant to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced VCA looking for a stable 6-month maternity cover role with an immediate start!
🏥 The Practice
Our client is a community-focused practice known for providing exceptional care to the local pets of Beckenham. They pride themselves on a supportive atmosphere where every team member is valued.
🕒 The Schedule (Work-Life Balance!)
This role offers a rare level of flexibility and great working hours:
Duration: 6-month contract (starting ASAP).
Days: Choice of 4 or 5 days per week.
Shift Patterns: 7-hour shifts (either 9:00 am – 4:00 pm or 10:00 am – 5:00 pm).
Weekends: Only 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.
💰 The Package
Pay Rate: Up to £18 per hour (negotiable based on the depth of your experience).
Payment Method: Our client’s preferred method of payment is via an Umbrella Company.
✅ What They Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
Previous experience working as a VCA within a UK small animal practice.
Confidence in animal handling and assisting the veterinary surgeons and nurses.
A proactive attitude and the ability to jump straight into a busy clinical environment.
Excellent communication skills with both the team and pet owners.
