We are working with a modern, independent practice in South East London who are looking to add an experienced VCA/PCA to their growing team.

Hours: Initially alternating weekly shifts of 9am–5pm and 11am–7pm. Once the next new team member joins, the role will move to a 4-day week of 9am–7pm.
You’ll also cover 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm) with time back in the week.
No out-of-hours and no bank holidays.

Experience required: Previous VCA experience is essential.

About the practice
This is a purpose-built, modern clinic where you’ll work closely with the practice directors, giving you genuine influence over how the practice continues to develop. The facilities include digital X-ray and ultrasound, a spacious operating theatre, a dedicated RVN consult room, a separate cat ward, in-house laboratory and a comfortable staff welfare area.

The role
This is a hands-on, varied position that involves all aspects of day-to-day clinic running. You will play a key part in supporting the clinical team and ensuring excellent patient and client experience.

Clinical duties include:
• Assisting vets and nurses with clinical procedures
• Preparing patients for theatre and helping with monitoring during recovery
• Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness across all clinical areas
• Supporting inpatient care, handling, feeding and general husbandry
• Stock control and helping with equipment maintenance

Although there is a dedicated client care team, there may be occasions where you assist with front-of-house duties.

Client care duties include:
• Welcoming clients and pets
• Handling calls, booking appointments and diary management
• Providing information on services, procedures and pet care
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate records
• Working closely with all team members to ensure smooth service

Why this role stands out
• Excellent work-life balance: 4–5 day week, 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, no OOH or bank holidays
• Salary of £27,000
• A developing, growing clinic where your contribution really counts
• Supportive and friendly team culture
• Wide-ranging hands-on experience
• Perks including free veterinary consultations and discounted treatments and medications
• Opportunity to help shape and grow a much-needed community practice

About you
The practice is looking for someone who has previous VCA experience, brings enthusiasm and positivity to the team, is compassionate with both clients and patients, stays organised under pressure, enjoys collaborative working and is proud to maintain high standards of care.
