We’re excited to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a qualified and experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to join a supportive and friendly small animal practice based in Berkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive RVN who’s ready to take the next step in their career, leading a nursing team and helping to shape the clinical standards and client experience in a well-established practice.
✨ The Practice
The site has a loyal and growing client base and is proudly accredited as a cat-friendly clinic. With two consult rooms and space for nurse-led clinics, the environment is ideal for a nurse who enjoys client interaction as well as hands-on surgical support.
You’ll also benefit from access to a network of advanced diagnostic tools including MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, and ECG through nearby partner sites. For out-of-hours cases, there is support from a local 24-hour hospital.
🗓 Rota & Working Hours
- Full-time role: 4-day week
- Weekend cover: 1 in 6 (at nearby 24-hour hospital)
- Protected time for administrative and leadership duties
🧠 Who We’re Looking For
- We’re seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
- Experience working in a busy small animal practice
- Skilled in nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
- A confident communicator and team player
- Previous leadership experience is desirable, or the ambition to step into a lead role
- A proactive approach to clinical standards, client communication and team support
