Our client has an opportunity for a RVN to join their friendly and dynamic team working alongside 2 Senior Vets, a Practice Manager, 3 Vet’s, 4 RVN’s, a Head Nurse, 2 SVN’s and VCA’s as well as 3 Receptionists and a Practice Administrator. This Nursing team provides cover 7 days a week from 8:00am - 8:00pm on weekdays and 9:00am – 6:00pm on weekends. Therefore, you must be friendly, driven, committed and confident in your existing knowledge and be focused on constantly improving your knowledge and areas of expertise. It is essential that you are customer service focused, a good communicator and that you have a positive attitude. For this role you will need to have at least 1 year’s experience since graduating and be able to work on your own and as part of a team. The nursing team performs a mixture of work including monitoring anaesthetics, patient recovery & monitoring, lab work, nurse consults and clinics, stock management and cleaning. Clients travel from a 25-mile radius to see this practice as it is one of very few exotic vets in the area.  As well as routine surgeries and clinics they also do more complex surgeries such as orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries (trauma and non-trauma) and echocardiography. The team see many pets for medical and surgical treatment including dogs, cats, rabbits as well as small mammals like hamsters, rats and guinea pigs and more exotic exotics like sugar gliders, skunks, hedgehogs, reptiles and birds (including birds of prey). Facilities are modern and well maintained, there are 4 separate kennels areas for dogs, cats, exotics, and isolation. There has been continuous investment in diagnostic, surgical, monitoring, and therapeutic equipment for both small animals and exotic pets and also offers a comprehensive in-house laboratory with biochemistry, Epoch, electrolytes, haematology, sediment analyser, microscopes, and small exotic haematology, orthopaedic equipment, a dentistry machine, IPPV, multi-parameter monitors with capnography, ECG, a Sonoscope ProPet 60 ultrasound, digital x-ray, a tonometer, an otoscope, electrocautery, a Class 4 laser machine and access to an endoscope. Situated in the South Wales Valley this practice has ample parking on site and close to rail and bus links in all directions.

This is a Perm, Full Time role working 40 hours a week over 5 days with 1:4 weekends and a day off in lieu during the week.
