Rosevean Veterinary Practice has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to be part of our small animal night team on a 6 Months Fixed Term Contract from March 2026.
Rosevean Veterinary Practice is an RCVS accredited, well-established and highly regarded Veterinary practice located in the beautiful Cornish coastal town of Penzance. We provide a wide range of high-quality veterinary services to our Small Animal, Equine and Farm clients. At Rosevean, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional veterinary care.
We have all the expected modern first-opinion facilities, including an imaging suite with digital x-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy; two large, fully equipped theatres; drip pumps, fluid warmers, and multi-parameter monitoring; dental facilities, including dental x-ray; and a dedicated laboratory for in-house testing.
The Role:
This is a great opportunity to join our helpful and supportive close-knit team. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced nurse who delivers exceptional inpatient care to our furry patients and support and empathy to our clients. They will also enjoy emergency care, working closely with the on-call vets to manage an OOH caseload. A team player with the ability to work autonomously when required, you will have a can-do approach and a desire to collaborate with the wider team to maintain our standards of care and excel in the services we provide.
** Salary between £32,000 - £34,000 per annum depending on experience
Main responsibilities:
- Patient handovers between day and night teams
- Inpatient care for patients hospitalised overnight
- Assisting on-call vets with small animal emergencies
- Forwarding OOH calls to the relevant on-call vet (small animal or large animal) - prior large animal experience is not required
Rota:
We are offering a three-week rolling rota pattern with a great work life balance of only 7 nights in every 21.
The rota allows you to plan in advance and you’ll have plenty of downtime to focus on the priorities that matter to you. Work life balance is important to us at Rosevean and we believe our rota pattern strikes that perfect balance.
Your rota pattern will be as follows:
Week 1: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs Nights
Week 2: Fri night, Saturday from 12.30pm to Monday 8am
Week 3: Off
**As a night nurse working out of hours, you will also have use of a dedicated flat for relaxation and breaks during the shift.
