Our client has an opportunity for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join their team or perhaps you are an experienced and passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse ready to step into a leadership role. Located in the scenic Lake District, this role offers a perfect blend of career and lifestyle opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for and required to
- Lead and inspire a team of Veterinary Care Assistants, Student Veterinary Nurses and Registered Veterinary Nurses.
- Actively engage in nurse consultations, theatre nursing, inpatient care, and other clinical duties, ensuring that you remain hands-on while also managing the team.
- Work closely with veterinary surgeons, helping to advance both patient and client care, playing a central role in ensuring the highest standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You will be working alongside 4 Vets with regular Locum support, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 1 Veterinary Care assistant and a dedicated reception team.
This practice is well-equipped with an Idexx lab, multiparameter monitors, new ultrasound, digital X-ray including dental X-ray, drip pumps, and more. The main surgery handles more complex cases and in-depth workups, while the branch clinic focuses on preventative medicine. The clinic is also an RVN Training Practice, Cat Friendly, and Practice Standards accredited and is also involved with the local greyhound rehoming centre and hosts Pet Blood Bank sessions.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 39.03 hours a week with 1:6 Saturday mornings and 1 weekday evening shift. However, our client is also happy to consider a part-time role 3- or 4-days week so please do let us know your preferences.
This role offers a salary up to £38,000 DOE with a range of benefits including
