You will be using innovative technology, including the latest laboratory equipment for rapid results on blood and urine tests, ultrasound, x-ray, and advanced monitoring equipment. Duties and Responsibilities as a RVN
- Admitting patients into the practice to have diagnostic tests, observations or surgical procedures.
- Managing the treatments and monitoring of inpatients, handling any changes that may occur.
- Taking blood samples and running them through the laboratory machines or examining them under a microscope.
- Cleaning and preparing the theatre and equipment ready for the day’s procedures.
- Preparing patients for surgical procedures, and administering medications confidently.
- Assisting with surgeries to ensure well-organised and efficient processes.
- Monitoring anaesthetics and patient recovery.
- Carrying out veterinary nurse consultations, post operative checks and educating clients on treatment plans, post-op care and health issues.
- Overseeing all aspects of patient care such as wound management or palliative care.
- Dispensing medicines that have been prescribed by the veterinary surgeon.
- Maintaining records, managing medicines, equipment and supplies stock.
- Cleaning of consultation rooms, theatre, wards, laboratory room and other areas to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Taking any inpatient dogs outside to toilet and catching urine samples.
Duties and Responsibilities as a Clinical Supervisor
- Mentoring and supporting our student nurses (maximum of 2 students) by overseeing their training by providing them with guidance and encouragement.
- Teaching practical skills, and ensuring their progress is documented in Smart Assessor.
- Being responsible for structuring the learning process, promoting positive working relationships with our students.
- Attend annual standardisation workshops to maintain your qualifications.
