Fancy a role with no OOH on the beautiful South England coast? Come and work with us at Natterjacks!
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our RCVS accredited Poole practice whilst one of our nurses takes maternity leave.
You will be working in a genuinely friendly practice in picturesque Dorset, minutes from the sea. Our growing small animal practice has all the mod cons and toys including an in-house CT scanner. Both of our sites in Poole and Bournemouth are close to the beach, with easy access to all that the Jurassic coast, Dorset countryside and the New Forest have to offer.
What we can offer you:
- FTC until Sept 2026 (to start asap)
- Part-time - 28.5 hours per week with rare Saturday overtime if cover is needed (Saturdays not part of the standard schedule)
- Option for hours to be worked over 3, 4 or 5 days per week if on a rota basis, with some shifts ending at 7pm and some starting at 8/8.30am. Shift patterns to be discussed in person
- No out of hours and we are closed on bank holidays – making for a great work life balance!
** Salary - up to £33,230 (pro rata) **
You will have a varied role including consulting, reception, theatre work and inpatient care.
CPD is well supported with a standard allowance of £600 per annum (pro rata) but additional qualifications/certificates and career progression opportunities are also encouraged and funded.
So, why Natterjacks?
Well apart from all the above and having the chance to live in one of the most gorgeous parts of the UK, the most important factor in joining us at Natterjacks is to be part of our team; we have an exceptionally lovely bunch of vets, nurses, and support colleagues who get on like a house on fire (in a good way) and have a great time together both in and out of work.
We have a variety of experience levels, backgrounds and interests, making us a dynamic team to work within. There are (many) nights out, a practice paddleboarding group, umpteen potential dog walking friends to be made, young families, runners, board gamers, photographers, cyclists, music enthusiasts and festival goers etc. Whatever wonderful talents you want to bring to the Natterjacks family will be welcomed with open arms!
Some quotes from our wonderful team:
Natterjacks is truly the most amazing place to work. I feel so lucky to be part of its amazing team of kind, fantastic people. Natterjacks has fully supported and encouraged my learning and training despite me being in my later years. I thank my lucky stars daily for finding this opportunity and being accepted to work at Natterjacks, it’s brilliant!! RVN
I love working at Natterjacks for many reasons! One being the team spirit and morale we always pull together, and the dynamic of vets and nurses works very well! The vets at the practice trust the nursing staff and I feel I use my qualification to the best possible limits performing schedule 3 tasks daily resulting in high job satisfaction. I work with some of my best friends too which makes work a lovely place to be! As a practice we are professional and caring for both patients and clients and we also know how to have fun! RVN
