Are you a passionate and experienced RVN seeking a leadership role in a dynamic, fast-paced hospital environment? We’re excited to be recruiting for a Lead Consulting RVN to join our client’s exceptional team in Greater Manchester.
This position is perfect for an RVN who thrives in all areas of veterinary care, from surgery and hospital wards to nurse clinics and consultations. You’ll rotate across various disciplines to ensure the highest standard of care for every patient, while also focusing on nursing consults and building strong client relationships.
As the Lead Consulting RVN, you’ll play a key leadership role, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of RVNs, Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs), and Patient Care Assistants (PCAs). You’ll be responsible for the effective management and support of your team, ensuring smooth workflows and exceptional patient care.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing clinical duties with leadership responsibilities, as approximately 90-95% of the role is clinical and 5-10% is designated for admin and leadership tasks.
Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of RVNs, SVNs, and PCAs.
- Provide quality nursing consults and foster strong client relationships.
- Oversee and coordinate daily case flow with other department leads.
- Ensure effective communication across teams, attending regular meetings and daily briefings.
- Mentor and coach team members, identifying areas for learning, development, and CPD.
- Manage performance, training, and development discussions within the team.
- Support the triage system, handling emergency appointments and patient handovers.
- Maintain accurate records, pricing, and infection control protocols within the consult rooms.
- Actively engage with practice improvement projects and ensure compliance with GDPR and Health & Safety policies.
- Reinstate structured nurse clinics to further improve client care and patient outcomes.
