The Role
Here at South Wales Vets, we are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The role will include general nursing, nurse consultations, inpatient care, anaesthesia, some reception duties and admin, infection control and assisting the clinical team.
The rota will include working 40 hours per week over 4 days. There will be 1 in 4 Saturdays and no on-call or out of hours.
The salary for this role will be up to £29,000 depending on experience.
About Us
We have a refurbished practice in the small community of Abertillery. Our practice has digital xray, ultrasound scan, in house laboratory, capnography, dedicated nurse room. The area is surrounded by the beautiful Welsh countryside and mountains and is perfect for those Sunday afternoon dog walks! We are an excellent friendly team with a very driven goal and achieving high levels of clinical care and standards.
Our team consists of 2-3 Vets with a range of skills and experience including an internal medicine certificate holder. Our Head Nurse is experienced and an invaluable support to the clinical team, supported by our team of wonderful Registered Veterinary Nurses with mixed experience. We also have a dedicated team of Receptionists that look after our front of house and clients!
Applicant Requirements
Ideally some experience in small animal practice but a Student Veterinary Nurse would be considered. Ideally confident with nurse consults and anaesthesia with passion for striving in a clinical capacity. It is desirable that the candidate is able to drive and has access to a car.
