GVC are assisting a well-established small animal practice in Hertfordshire in their search for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their welcoming and collaborative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN who wants to feel genuinely valued, supported, and encouraged to develop in a positive clinical environment.
The Role
As an RVN, you’ll play a key role across all areas of the practice, with real autonomy and support to shape your day-to-day work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients
- Support anaesthesia and surgical procedures
- Run nurse consultations and client education clinics
- Monitor inpatients and assist with diagnostics
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary and support team
About the Practice
You’ll be joining a small, friendly team consisting of vets, an experienced nurse, and a dedicated support team. The practice is purpose-built and well-equipped, providing a calm and professional environment.
Facilities include:
- Separate cat and dog wards
- Sterile theatre and isolation unit
- Digital X-ray and ultrasound
- In-house laboratory
- Modern monitoring equipment
The practice benefits from a loyal client base and a varied caseload, with time allocated to deliver high standards of care. Regular collaboration with visiting specialists also provides excellent learning opportunities.
About You
- Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered)
- Confident in general nursing duties including anaesthesia
- Passionate about patient care and client communication
- Keen to develop through CPD and further qualifications
- A positive, proactive team player
Work-Life Balance
- No out-of-hours
- No Sundays
- 1 in 3 Saturdays (9am–1pm) with time off in lieu or additional pay
- Flexible full-time or part-time options
- Weekday shifts between 8:45am – 7:15pm
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £30,000 DOE
- RCVS and VDS fees paid
- CPD fully funded and supported
