Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

My client is a busy small animal hospital that is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and versatile RVN to join its friendly dynamic team.

The hospital, proudly independent and 100% dedicated to small animals, operates in purpose-built premises with additional support from the branch practice at Skellingthorpe.

The successful candidate will become a valuable addition to the existing team of highly skilled, passionate nurses led and supported by the Head Nurses.

As a training practice, there are brilliant students within the nursing team, offering the opportunity to become a clinical coach.

The team is also supported by kennel assistants who contribute to maintaining the highest standards of nursing care for patients.

The role entails a full-time position, working a 38-hour week from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 7 pm, with an additional requirement of 1 in 6 Saturday mornings from 8 am to 1 pm.

When working a Saturday morning, a Friday off is provided. Weekday shift times vary, accommodating the flexibility needs of the nursing team, with options for a 4-day week with longer days or a 5-day week with shorter days.

Emergency coverage is provided by another practice from 7 pm to 8 am Monday to Friday and from 12 pm Saturday to 8 am Monday.

Separate night nurses handle inpatient care and post-surgery cases during the night, with sleeping night shifts and 4-hourly inpatient checks.

Day nurses cover these night shifts for annual leave and sickness, with shifts allocated evenly.

Duties include in-patient care, nurse clinics, lab work, dispensary tasks, and assisting vets during examinations and surgeries, including monitoring anaesthetics, radiography, and maintaining high standards of practice cleanliness and equipment care.

The hospital offers a range of employee benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, Bupa Health Insurance, Income Protection cover, payment of RCVS fees, a generous CPD allowance with opportunities for certificates, a competitive salary, support for further progression, 5 weeks of holiday plus bank holidays, cost-price treatment for pets, and seasonal parties (Summer and Christmas).
