My client has a independent small animal practice located close to Central London. They have grown really fast in the last two years and are currently expanding their team.
They are lucky to be in a lovely area with nice clients and a bright new clinic, which includes all the expected gadgets and equipment such as orthopaedic, digital x-ray including dental, ultrasound, multiparameter monitors, full in house Idexx lab. The clinic comprises of 3 consultation rooms, 2 theatres, and a separate cat and dog ward.
They are currently looking for a passionate and motivated RVN to join the team, to help expand and grow as a practice. As an RVN, you will work alongside their existing team of experienced veterinary professionals, which include two vet directors and another vet joining them in May.
Salary starts at £36k per annum for newly qualified nurses for a 37.5 hour week from 9am to 5pm with unpaid 30 minute lunch, with 1 in 3 Saturdays 9am -1pm. But they will be flexible for those wanting to do 4 or 5 days a week etc. They have 23 days annual leave, plus bank holidays plus birthday day off, Private Health Insurance and Annual CPD allowance £500 (more for a Head Nurse with a special interest after 1 year of service) and time off for any courses (likely 2 days off for LVS).
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and able to work well as part of a team. You will be responsible for all the usual VN duties, including admin, clinical work, lab work, and some reception work as a new receptionist has just started (this will be shared across the team). You will be joining a team of 3 RVNs (+1 RVN to join) and 1 VCA, all of whom work closely together and provide support to each other. Additionally there will be extra admin to do with the nursing rota, nurse holiday requests, overseeing nurses keep to shift duties etc.
