Salary: Up to £31,000 DOE
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days | 1 in 5 weekends
Global Veterinary Careers is supporting a busy, well-established 24-hour first-opinion veterinary hospital near Greater Manchester, with the recruitment of a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its daytime clinical team.
This is a great opportunity for a confident RVN who enjoys working in a hospital environment, values hands-on nursing, and is keen to continue developing their clinical skills within a supportive, forward-thinking practice.
The Role
You’ll work across multiple departments within the hospital, with the opportunity to rotate through theatre, consults, pharmacy, emergency, and inpatient care. There is also scope for nurses with a particular interest in theatre and anaesthesia to develop further in this area.
The role is structured around 10-hour shifts, providing a strong work–life balance while maintaining exposure to a varied and interesting caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care across multiple hospital departments
- Support surgical procedures, anaesthesia, and theatre workflows
- Provide excellent inpatient and emergency nursing care
- Assist with consultations, pharmacy duties, and patient monitoring
- Carry out Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with vets, nurses, and support staff
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records
- Contribute positively to a supportive, team-focused hospital culture
About You
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered)
- Confident working in a busy hospital or high caseload environment
- Comfortable rotating through different departments
- Interest in theatre and anaesthesia welcomed (but not essential)
- Proactive, hands-on approach to nursing
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
While applications are welcomed from nurses at different stages of their career, this role would best suit an RVN who feels confident in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week over 4 days
- 10-hour shifts between 7:00am and 8:00pm
- 1 in 5 weekends
