Independent Practice | Permanent | Norfolk
An independent small animal practice in Norfolk are looking for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their dedicated out-of-hours team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys emergency and inpatient care, while benefiting from a fantastic 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota, offering a great work–life balance.
You’ll be joining a friendly, family-run practice where the night team are a valued and integral part of the wider clinical team.
The Practice
This purpose-built veterinary practice is well equipped and provides a high standard of care to a varied caseload of small animals and exotics.
Facilities include:
Separate cat, dog and exotic wards
Digital X-ray
Ultrasound
On-site CT scanner
Endoscopy
ECG
In-house laboratory
The practice is home to multiple certificate-holding vets and nurses, allowing them to manage a wide range of medical and surgical cases in-house.
You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team that prides itself on providing excellent patient and client care.
The Role
This is a night nursing position where you will play an important role in the delivery of out-of-hours care for the practice’s own clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality inpatient nursing care
Assisting with overnight medical and surgical emergencies
Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients
Supporting the veterinary surgeon during emergency procedures
Maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical records
This role would suit an RVN who is confident working independently overnight, while also enjoying being part of a close-knit and supportive team.
Hours & Salary
7 nights on / 14 nights off rota
Shift times: 6:30pm – 8:30am
Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 depending on experience

About You
The practice is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) who:
Has a compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
Is confident working independently overnight
Works well as part of a collaborative team
Is proactive and able to use initiative during quieter periods
Enjoys contributing to a positive and supportive workplace culture
Previous experience with exotics is welcome but not essential, as training and support can be provided.
