Registered Veterinary Nurse – Independent Practice | North Cornwall / North Devon
Salary: £26,000–£29,000 DOE (34 hrs / 4-day week)
An independent, fast-growing small animal practice in the North Devon / North Cornwall area is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly, progressive team. With a strong focus on nurse utilisation, clinical development and work-life balance, this is a brilliant opportunity for an RVN wanting variety, autonomy and genuine support.
The Practice
This proudly independent group has sites across the area. Leadership is hands-on, with Directors and Managers working closely with the clinical team every day. They’re part of the Vetsure and Vet Dynamics communities, and invest heavily in nurse-led clinics; including laser therapy, to ensure RVNs can fully use their skills.
They run their own quiet OOH service (1:8 weeknights / 1:8 weekends) with calls screened by a messaging service. Accommodation is available during on-call.
The Role
You’ll rotate across a handful of local branches, covering:
Theatre / Ops
In-patients and hospital care
Nurse clinics
Reception support when needed
Assisting vets on the OOH rota
This is a role where RVNs are encouraged to drive improvements, take ownership of cases and deliver outstanding patient and client care.
Hours & Salary
34 hours per week across 4 days
Equivalent to £33,450 for 40 hours
Salary: £26,000–£29,000 DOE
1:8 OOH rota with accommodation available

About You
RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse (required)
1+ year clinical experience preferred
Confident across general nursing, inpatient care and client communication
Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive, independent team
