Help Search Locate is currently on the lookout for an energetic and self-assured nurse to join our welcoming client in North Surrey.
Our client, an RCVS Accredited Practice established in 2000, is dedicated to small animal care, specializing in dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. With onsite hospitalization, full surgical and medical facilities, and collaboration with OOH Vets Now Thamesmead, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team.
Key Details:
- Shifts on a rota basis, Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm (9 hours per shift, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break).
- Saturdays on a rota basis from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Responsibilities: As a valued member of the healthcare team, you'll work within the veterinary surgery, collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and reception support staff. Reporting to the Head Nurse, Practice Managers, and Vets, you will contribute to the medical and surgical care of animals while delivering exceptional client care.
Your Duties Will Include:
- Providing surgical and medical nursing support, including anesthesia monitoring, administering medications, and assisting with diagnostic imaging.
- Offering high-level nursing care to hospitalised patients.
- Admitting and discharging patients for various procedures.
- Assisting veterinary surgeons during consultations.
- Dispensing animal medicines as directed by a veterinary surgeon.
- Maintaining hygiene standards and sterilizing equipment.
- Cleaning surgical areas post-procedures.
- Overseeing kennel room and laboratory maintenance.
- Participating in general housekeeping of the surgery.
- Active involvement in nurse clinics and providing support to owners for preventative care and nutritional advice.
Work Schedule:
- Basic working week of 40 hours, excluding meal breaks, from Monday to Friday.
- Saturdays on rota as additional hours, paid at a flat rate overtime.
- Additional hours, at a flat rate, may be required based on operational needs.
Benefits:
- Competitive starting salary based on experience, starting at £30,000.
