We are seeking a newly Registered Veterinary Nurse or second year Student Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full time (40 hour) contract. Part time candidates are also welcomed.

We are a busy Veterinary Hospital located in the heart of Bridgwater, Somerset, and have a small branch practice in the beautiful village of Nether Stowey both dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and outstanding service to their owners. We work in partnership with Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic (SVEC), a dedicated out-of-hours provider for practices across the Somerset region. SVEC delivers high-quality emergency care during nights, weekends, and bank holidays on behalf of its member practices.
Operating from the RCVS-accredited Quantock Veterinary Hospital, SVEC is fully equipped to provide exceptional emergency and critical care, ensuring continuity of service and professional support for local veterinary teams.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be supported by our dedicated and experienced RVN’s in a range of shifts across the hospital covering consultations, in-patient care, anaesthesia and much more!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist vets with surgery and procedures
- Monitor anaesthetics
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patients and provide post-operative care
- Conduct nursing clinics and provide client education
- Maintain accurate patient records using our practice management system and on paper records
- Perform diagnostic tests and radiography
Requirements:
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for animal care and welfare
