Registered Veterinary Nurse - Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Are you an experienced and passionate Veterinary Nurse looking for a role within an independent practice that offers variety, flexibility, and a supportive work environment? My client has an exciting opportunity in our practice that could be perfect for you!
Position Details:
- Hours: Full-time shifts are 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with one weekend day per month. Part time applicants are also encouraged to apply
- Varied Nursing Roles: The nurses rotate through different areas of nursing daily, such as inpatients and theatre, ensuring a dynamic work experience. My client is flexible and they aim to tailor duties to suit individual preferences.
- Branch Work: This role involves some work at their consulting branches, where you’ll handle post-op checks, weight clinics, discharges, and more. A driving license is essential, as branch work covers a maximum of 3 hours per day, with the rest of your time spent at the main site.
- No Reception Duties: The nurses focus solely on nursing, with no reception responsibilities.
- Weekend Shifts: Nurses cover one weekend day per month paid at an extra rate. With a large nursing team, there’s flexibility to opt in or out of weekend work based on your preference.
- Night Duty: Nurses are required to check on inpatients twice a month during the night. This is paid extra and you have the option to use the on-site flat if you wish. After night duty, your next shift starts later in the day, allowing for extra rest or time to be taken back in lieu.
Benefits:
Salary: Competitive and based on experience, to be discussed at the interview.
Holiday: 20 days per year + bank holidays.
CPD: Fully funded with no set budget—if it benefits you and the practice, we’ll support it!
If you’re a dedicated nurse with a passion for providing high-quality care and are looking for a practice that values your skills and work-life balance, we would love to hear from you!
