The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Unicorn Vets. You would be working at our Ashurst branch in the beautiful New Forest and be fully involved in the day-to-day running of the practice. You would be the sole charge nurse working alongside an experienced veterinary surgeon and be confident in all aspects of nursing. We encourage our nurses to fully utilise their skills, and further certificates or courses will be supported. We would welcome new ideas to achieve excellence in both patient and client care, and you would work as a team to drive the practice forward.
The successful candidate would be working 4 or 5 days a week although flexible working will be considered for the right applicant. There will be no weekends or out of hours. Currently shifts would be between 8:00am and 5:00pm with the potential for some 7:00pm finishes in the future as the practice grows.

About Us
Unicorn Vets is a group of three practices that has been in the Southampton area for over 30 years. We have a good client base with a strong focus on patient welfare and high clinical standards. The practice fosters a very supportive and caring environment where real emphasis is placed on ensuring a great work/life balance for all staff.
Our Ashurst surgery is located in the middle of The New Forest with a pub and train station right next door. The practices are equipped with digital X-ray, in-house haematology and biochemistry including SDMA, T4 and other extended panels, endoscopy, ultrasound with echocardiography, capnography, tonometry, ECG and a new K-Laser (at the Fair Oak branch).
Ashurst has one experienced Veterinary Surgeon and a dedicated Veterinary Care Assistant/Front of House Manager. As a group Unicorn has a team of 4 Veterinary Surgeons and further looking to grow. They are supported by a fantastic team of 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses, and an experienced Reception team.
