An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Veterinary Nurse with a passion for Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) to join a knowledgeable and supportive Out of Hours team at a well-established, RCVS-accredited hospital in Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a purpose-built 24-hour hospital, managing a varied and rewarding ECC caseload alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced RVN who enjoys the fast-paced nature of Emergency & Critical Care and is confident working independently while delivering exceptional patient care.
You will be involved in:
- Managing a diverse range of emergency, medical and post-surgical cases
- Monitoring advanced anaesthetics, including GDVs, caesareans and laparotomies
- Caring for complex patients requiring oesophageal tubes, urinary catheters, wound drains and negative pressure wound therapy
- Working alongside an experienced night team to deliver outstanding patient care
- Supporting emergency referrals as well as a busy first opinion caseload
This position would also suit a nurse working towards or considering an ECC certificate.
The Practice
- Purpose-built, 24-hour RCVS-accredited hospital
- Team of approximately 70 colleagues, including experienced vets, RVNs and VCAs
- Dedicated day, twilight and night nursing teams
- Support provided by twilight nurses until midnight
- Approximately 16 referring practices
- Busy and varied emergency and first opinion caseload
