The Opportunity
An established multidisciplinary referral hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its friendly and well-established surgical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN with a passion for surgery to become part of a supportive environment working with both soft tissue and orthopaedic referral cases.
You'll work alongside specialist surgeons, experienced nurses, and dedicated theatre technicians in a hospital committed to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with advanced surgical and imaging procedures
- Scrub into and support soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries
- Administer and monitor general anaesthesia and sedations
- Prepare patients for surgery, including clipping and prepping
- Manage admissions and discharges
- Maintain surgical instruments and theatre equipment
- Help organise and run busy theatre areas
About You
- RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Minimum one year post-qualification experience
- Previous surgical nursing experience preferred
- Referral experience desirable but not essential
- Team player with a passion for delivering high standards of patient care
- Keen to continue developing skills within a referral environment
Working Pattern
- Full-time position (40 hours per week)
- Four 10-hour shifts between 8:00am and 8:00pm
- 1 in 8 weekend rota
- Time off in lieu provided following weekend work
