Veterinary Nurse Position Available at Aspen Veterinary Surgery
Join this amazing team! A distinguished RCVS Accredited Practice established in 2000, focusing exclusively on small animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. We boast comprehensive facilities including onsite hospitalization, full surgical and medical amenities, with out-of-hours support provided..
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday shifts from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm on a rota basis, with each shift comprising 9 hours including a one-hour unpaid lunch break. We are open to discussing flexible working hours during the interview process.
- Rotational Saturday shifts from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Job Responsibilities: As a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), you'll collaborate with our surgical and medical teams, as well as reception support staff, ensuring optimal healthcare delivery and client satisfaction. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Providing surgical and medical nursing support, including anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and diagnostic imaging.
- Delivering high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients.
- Assisting in patient admissions, discharges, and consultations.
- Dispensing medications under veterinary supervision.
- Maintaining hygiene standards, sterilizing equipment, and cleaning surgical areas, kennels, and laboratories.
- Participating in nurse clinics, offering preventive care and nutritional advice to pet owners.
- Engaging in reception duties, managing appointments, records, prescriptions, payments, and client communications.

References and Probationary Period: Employment offers are contingent upon satisfactory references from previous employers. The first six months will serve as a probationary period to assess suitability for a fixed-term position.
Hours, Salary, and Benefits:
- The standard workweek consists of 40 hours, with additional Saturday shifts paid at an overtime rate.
- Salary commensurate with experience.
- 28 days of annual leave inclusive of bank and public holidays, pro-rated.
