The Role: Clinical Excellence
You will be responsible for the medical and surgical assessment and treatment of small animals, maintaining exceptional clinical standards (knowledge of large animals is a bonus!).
- Clinical Duties: Perform consultations, medical treatments, and general surgical operations (including neutering).
- Leadership: Supervise and guide support staff and promote preventative healthcare and services.
- Client Care: Provide excellent client communication regarding treatments, estimates, and lab results.
- Commercial Awareness: Manage client expectations with detailed estimates and regular updates.
Work-Life Balance Rota
This full-time position is based on a structured weekly rota, ensuring consistent time off:
- Standard Shifts: 4 days per week.
- Daily Hours: Start between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM, finishing between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
- On-Call: One weeknight per week on-call until 9:00 PM (with a later 1:00 PM start on this day).
- Weekends: Shared 1 full weekend in 5 rota (Saturday/Sunday morning consults, on-call until 5:00 PM).
- Time Off: Receive a full day off each week, plus Monday and Friday off following your duty weekend.
- OOH: No overnight on-call duties required.
Essential Requirements & Perks
The client is looking for a permanent member of staff who is a great communicator, team player, and all-rounder.
- Experience: Post-qualification experience in small animal practice.
- Driving: Must hold a full driving license and drive your own car (insured for business use).
- Residence: Must live within an agreed commuting distance of the practice.
