An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Clinical Director to help shape the future of a brand-new practice opening in Buckinghamshire.
This position offers a rare chance to lead, inspire, and build a team within a beautifully designed, purpose-built environment. As Clinical Director, you will hold overall responsibility for clinic performance across clinical standards, financial performance, and team leadership, with full autonomy to lead the practice alongside support and guidance from the wider leadership network.
📋 Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence: Spend approximately 80% of your time in clinical practice, leading by example with an evidence-based medicine approach. Oversee clinical governance, organize clinical audits, direct team CPD/education, and ensure all team members work to their full potential.
- Business Performance: Direct local clinic strategy across HR, recruitment, health and safety, marketing, and client care. Focus on membership and client acquisition, local marketing engagement, budget planning, and financial performance (with a focus on time to break even).
- Leadership & Team Management: Directly line manage the Practice Manager, Head Nurse, and veterinary team through regular 1-to-1s and documented team meetings. Lead on education, quality improvement, and performance development.
- Wellbeing & Culture: Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, honesty, and openness. Early identification of team wellbeing issues using tools such as "Vetsafe" and mental health first aid support.
- Community Engagement: Represent the practice within the wider veterinary community and direct team involvement in local community events.

👤 Candidate Requirements:
- Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with active RCVS registration.
