The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly caring Veterinary Surgeon to work with our friendly and supportive team. The role is ideally suited to a Vet with a minimum of 2 years of clinical and surgical experience. We want you to enjoy building relationships with our proactive clients and working up interesting cases. Enthusiasm for surgery is encouraged with a wide range of equipment.
We are flexible with shifts and are looking for at least 32 hours per week. The clinic is open from 8:00am-7:00pm Monday to Friday. We work on Saturday mornings from 8:30am- 1:00pm and the rota is currently 1:5. There are no Sundays involved. Our out-of-hours are delegated to Vets Now.
We are also offering a welcome bonus up to £1,500.
About Us
The surgery is located in the village of Holmes Chapel on the Cheshire Plain. We are close to the peak district and Junction 18 of the M6 allowing quick access to the motorway network. Our lovely practice has been established for 21 years. It is purpose-built and provides a fantastic environment to work in. We provide an exotics referral service & physiotherapy on-site with an underwater treadmill. We encourage surgical skills with a wide range of equipment including laparoscopy and a good range of orthopaedic kits. Diagnostics include digital X-Ray, dental X-Ray, and ultrasound. We have separate wards and a separate dental room.
We have a supportive and friendly team of 4-5 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 1 Student Veterinary Nurse. We offer an exotic service, but this role is more focused on cats and dogs. As we emerge from Covid we are looking forward to nights out eating, more dog walks, and Sunday lunches!
Applicant Requirements
The preferred candidate will be friendly, caring, and enjoys building up relationships with clients. They will be proactive and enthusiastic about surgery. We encourage the GP role and we want you to feel proud of it. Certificates are encouraged and funded. We are looking for a Vet that has a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a small animal first opinion practice.
