Carrigaline, County Cork, Ireland

Riverview Veterinary Group Carrigaline, is pleased to announce the arrival of our newly refurbished and expanded clinic, first established 25 years ago. Our new clinic is fully equipped with the latest x ray/ultrasound/dental and diagnostic equipment. Access within the wider group is available for referral surgery and advanced imaging.

We are seeking an experienced companion animal veterinary surgeon to join our expanding team in this exciting part of the journey ahead with career progression available for the right candidate.

The Role:

This position would suit candidates seeking a senior role with great support in a 11-person team comprising 3 vets, 5 nurses and 3 ACA/receptionists. We are looking for someone who is confident in first opinion work including routine soft tissue surgery.

This position would suit a senior experienced vet who would like more responsibility without the excessive administration burden. We have a centralised administrative resource which supports all our six teams with finance/HR/H&S which frees up our vets to concentrate on what they do best. Further support available from close to fifty colleagues in our five other sites.

There is great support for OOH, with a nurse also on call each night/weekend. All OOH calls are handled by a third-party call service which filters out most of the OOH calls/queries so that you only have to deal with genuine emergencies. There is also a separate Farm animal vet on call for extra support if required.

** Salary - from €75,000 dependent on experience**

Applicant Requirements:

An interest in medicine and diagnostics would be an advantage. Experience in performing routine and emergency small animal surgery would also be required. Good communication skills required, with a focus on customer care and team wellbeing.

The Town

Carrigaline is situated only a few miles south of Cork City and further south lies the beautiful coastal town of Crosshaven, home to the oldest yacht club in the world. Carrigaline is one of the fastest growing towns in Ireland, with a population close to 20,000. It is well connected by road, and commuter buses with the new M20 motorway currently under construction. Carrigaline is a thriving family friendly suburb with several newly built schools, amenities and sporting clubs offering a great quality of life.
