Are you an experienced Vet looking for an environment that actively protects your well-being, respects your clinical autonomy, and rejects corporate-style pressure? We are recruiting for a progressive, proudly inclusive independent practice situated on the scenic Derbyshire and Peak District border.
This practice operates with a refreshing, people-first philosophy. Egos, hierarchies, and rigid targets are completely left at the door in favor of a loud, honest, and deeply supportive team culture. Furthermore, the practice is actively working toward an autism-friendly award, genuinely supporting neurodivergent team members and recognizing that everyone works in different ways.
🧩 Rota & Work-Life Balance:
- Hours: Full-time with genuine flexibility—the team is completely open to discussing part-time splits or term-time contracts.
- No OOH: Enjoy your evenings with absolutely no out-of-hours responsibilities.
- Weekends: A manageable 1 in 4 weekend rotation.
- Salary: From £65,000+ per annum, fully dependent on your experience.
🩺 How the Practice Actually Works:
- No Rushed Medicine: Consultation blocks are 15 minutes as standard, but if a case requires longer, you are fully supported to take the time you need.
- Protected Lunch Hour: The practice completely closes for one hour daily. No clients, no routine calls—allowing the team to eat together, walk, and properly reset.
- The Team & Facilities: You will be backed by a hands-on support team and 3 highly capable RVNs who fully utilize Schedule 3 skills. Facilities include a dedicated theatre, large prep area, separate kennels and cattery, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and a tonopen.
- 🦅 The Exotics Option: The practice treats a varied range of exotic patients. While handling them is entirely optional based on your personal comfort, the opportunity is readily available if you enjoy expanding your clinical variety!
👤 About You:
- An experienced, confident, and approachable Small Animal Vet.
- Willing and capable of providing high-quality support and mentorship to a new graduate working through their VetGDP.
- A true team player who enjoys a fun, collaborative working environment but knows exactly when to be serious.
🌾 The Location:
Based on the beautiful edge of the Peak District, the location offers a genuinely nice client base, on-site parking, and excellent outdoor lifestyle opportunities. It also provides easy access to the M1 and the East Midlands Airport for convenient travel. Plus, well-behaved dogs are very welcome to come to work with you!
