An experienced Veterinary Surgeon is required to join a progressive, locally owned small animal practice based on the sunny south coast in Dorset, just a 5-minute walk from the beach.
The practice has recently undergone expansion to include a dedicated dental suite, upgraded imaging room, enlarged waiting area, additional consulting rooms, kennels, and a colleague break area. Facilities include a Vetus 50 ultrasound with colour Doppler and ECG, a K-Laser, and upcoming laparoscopic equipment.
The team consists of 5 Vets (including an Advanced Practitioner in Medicine with over 40 years of combined team experience), supported by a long-standing nursing team, receptionists, and a Practice Manager of over 11 years. The practice is also an RCVS accredited Nurse Training Practice with regular clinical and non-clinical team meetings.
Role & Rota Details:
- Duties: General practice veterinary surgeon duties, mentoring newer colleagues, with opportunities to develop or utilise skills in laparoscopy (CPD, caseload, and equipment support provided).
- Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 Saturdays.
- Out-of-Hours: None.
- Work-Life Balance: Protected lunch breaks and flexible working options where possible.
Package & Remuneration:
- Salary: Up to £80,000 FTE (depending on experience).
