A busy, purpose-built 24-hour small animal surgery in Romford with a dedicated onsite night team is looking for an Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join an experienced and well-equipped clinical team.
The working pattern is seven nights on and fourteen nights off. Monday to Friday the shift runs 8pm to 8.15am, weekends from 6pm to 9am. This creates a genuinely distinctive work-life pattern — intensive periods of clinical work followed by a substantial block of time completely off. Free on-site parking, 25 minutes to central London by train and conveniently positioned for multiple regional airports.
The surgery is purpose-built and well-resourced — two dedicated operating theatres, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, digital radiography, a full endoscopy unit and access to CT at a nearby branch. The wider clinical team of 14 vets and 18 VNs has varied interests spanning medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, and certificate study is actively supported with a generous CPD allowance.
Sole charge confidence and competence in emergency surgical procedures are essential. Strong diagnostic and medical skills and excellent client communication are key throughout.
