An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, state-of-the-art emergency and out-of-hours team at a busy hospital-standard surgery situated on the East London / Essex border.

This role offers the ultimate work-life balance with a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, allowing you two full weeks of downtime between shifts. The practice features a dedicated on-site day and night team, facilitating seamless 24/7 care for all patients.

📅 The Rota & Schedule:

• Type: Permanent night role.
• Working Pattern: 7 nights on, followed by 14 nights off.
• Weekday Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00pm – 8:15am.
• Weekend Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 6:00pm – 9:00am.
• Location & Travel: Based on the East London / Essex border, offering free on-site parking. The clinic boasts incredible transport links, placing you just 25 minutes from central London and 20 minutes from the Essex countryside, with easy access to Stansted, London City, and Southend airports.

🏥 Our Facilities & Case Load:

You will be working within a spacious, purpose-built surgery designed to industry-leading standards. The facility is fully equipped with:

• Two dedicated operating theatres.
• High-end ultrasound, digital radiography, and a full endoscopy unit.
• An advanced in-house laboratory.
• Access to CT scanning at a sister branch.
• A highly diverse, fast-paced caseload that offers immense clinical variety and rewarding emergency work.

👥 Team & Professional Support:

You will be backed by a strong, established clinical team of 14 veterinary surgeons and 18 veterinary nurses holding diverse interests spanning internal medicine, soft tissue, and complex orthopaedic surgery.

Because professional development is highly valued, you will receive a generous CPD allowance, with full clinical and financial support provided if you wish to study towards an emergency and critical care or advanced clinical certificate.

💰 Salary & Benefits:

• Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum (Full salary, not pro-rata).

👤 Candidate Requirements:

• Must have existing UK clinical experience with active RCVS registration.
• Fully confident with sole charge, emergency diagnostic/medical skills, and competent with emergency surgical procedures.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and compassionate care to clients during stressful emergency situations.
