An independent, award-winning small animal practice in East Sussex is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP vet looking to work in a supportive, community-focused environment with a strong emphasis on continuity of care and clinical autonomy.

This well-established practice has built a loyal client base and an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Operating as an independent clinic, the team prioritises clinical freedom, strong client relationships, and a positive working culture. The practice is well-equipped with modern facilities including digital radiography, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory.
The Role
The successful candidate will take a key role within a village-based clinic, providing first opinion care to a variety of small animals. The role includes a balance of consultations and routine surgical procedures. This position is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with 2+ years’ experience who is confident in general practice and values building long-term relationships with clients.
The practice offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time hours considered. There are no out-of-hours requirements, and overtime is paid if incurred. A structured rota includes limited evening clinics and a shared Saturday morning rota.

Candidate Requirements
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in small animal practice
- Confident in routine surgery and general medical cases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
