Veterinary Surgeon – MAT Cover (15 months) | Edinburgh
💰 Up to £58,000 FTE (DOE) | FT/PT | 1 in 3 weekends | Paid lunch
A rare opportunity has arisen to join a well-established small GP practice in Edinburgh for a 15-month MAT cover starting February 2026. We’re looking for an experienced Vet (3+ years qualified) who is confident in sole charge, especially for weekend shifts.
About the Role
- Full-time or part-time considered, including 1 in 3 weekends
- Weekdays: Supported by 2 Vets, 2 RVNs, and 2 receptionists
- Weekends: Sole charge, supported by 1 Nurse and 1 Receptionist; focus on sick/emergency cases, limited vaccinations, no scheduled surgeries
- Paid 1-hour lunch break
- Saturday: 9am–5pm | Sunday: 10am–5pm
- Time in lieu offered during the week to balance weekend shifts
About the Practice
- Modern, well-equipped surgery with a passionate, skilled team:
- 2 full-time Vets, 2 part-time Vets
- 3 RVNs
- Practice Manager and 3 client care advisors
- Specialist services include feline nursing, dermatology, clinical animal behaviour, and emergency care.
