A fixed-term opportunity has arisen for a Clinician in Small Animal Internal Medicine to join a referral Small Animal Hospital based in Glasgow.
This part-time contract (0.7 FTE / approximately 3.5 days per week) runs from September 2026 to January/February 2027. The position is open to residency-trained clinicians (Board-eligible) as well as fully Board-certified Diplomates (ECVIM/ACVIM).
🏥 Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Services: Deliver a specialist small animal internal medicine service and provide expert advice to referring veterinary practices and clients.
- Out-of-Hours: Participate in the internal medicine out-of-hours service to provide clinical expertise and supervision.
- Teaching & Supervision: Guide and teach veterinary undergraduates and clinical scholars during daily clinical duties.
- Clinical Research: Engage in collaborative clinical research and evidence-based medicine projects.
📅 Rota & Hours:
- Working Hours: Part-time (0.7 FTE).
- Duration: September 2026 – January/February 2027.
- OOH: Includes participation in the internal medicine out-of-hours rota.
👤 Candidate Requirements:
- Veterinary degree registerable with the RCVS.
- Completion of a recognised internal medicine residency training programme (ECVIM/ACVIM Board-certified or Board-eligible).
- Strong clinical, communication, and team-working skills.
- Experience in undergraduate or scholar teaching is advantageous.
