The Role

We are looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to replace our orthopaedic surgeon who is moving to Spain. The role involves seeing surgical cases internally referred to you by our 25-vet team, along with taking some referrals from other local IVC clinics. 

Currently, the surgeon undertakes consultations during the morning Monday to Friday and operates each afternoon Monday to Thursday. This is a 4.5-day week with no OOH and no weekends to work. A hugely experienced and supportive surgical nursing teams will be on hand to support you and enable you to work to high standards. This role can be exclusively orthopaedic or a combination or orthopaedic, soft tissue and laparoscopic cases. 

Although the current role is 4.5 days per week, we can also explore the option of more part-time working patterns to suit the right candidate.


Salary

The salary for this role is up to £72,000 depending on experience. 


About Us

We are set in the beautiful town of Emsworth, within walking distance to the sea and surrounded by the South Downs National Park making it a great location to explore and enjoy outside living. With great transport links to London, ports, and airports it is easy to travel to both part of the UK and Europe. 

The clinic is extensively equipped with all the usual in-house facilities including full Idexx blood panels, DR x-ray and ultrasound. We have full orthopaedic equipment including TPLO and TTA kits, plating and locking screw kits, facilities for stem cell therapy, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and arthroscopy meaning you can work to an incredibly high standard.


About the Team and Culture

Across our 12 sites we have 25 veterinary surgeons, 54 nurses and 60 support staff. In addition to our current orthopaedic surgeon, we have certificate holders in surgery, medicine, cardiology, imaging, ECC and dermatology. We have several nurses with certificates, and we have a dedicated surgical nursing team for you to work with who also help manage and book your surgical caseload.


Applicant Requirements 

We are looking for a candidate with advanced certificate status and a significant amount of orthopaedic experience who can handle a large and varied caseload. You should be driven to work to the highest standards, looking to expand and improve the service that is currently offered. Teamwork is critical as you gel with our fantastic surgical support team.
