We have an opportunity for a part-time Small Animal Vet to join our friendly, RCVS accredited practice in Petersfield.
About us:
Originally founded in 1974 by two friends, St. Peter’s Vets has seen great growth over the years, and we now have 4 surgeries across Farlington, Horndean, Liss and Petersfield. All our branches are equipped with the latest healthcare technologies, and laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy are available. We also have an in-house orthopaedic surgeon and a visiting ophthalmologist.
Our 19 veterinary surgeons, along with our nursing and reception team provide exceptional care to our clients and we offer emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year at the Petersfield surgery.
We also run a successful mobile vet service to offer house visits for routine care, euthanasia’s, blood sampling, medication checks etc.
The Role:
- Salary – £40,000-£48,000 dependent on experience
- Part-Time – 30 hours per week over 3 days (some weekend work, currently approx. 1 in 4.5 with time off in lieu)
- No night shifts – we have our own dedicated night team on site allowing for case continuity and excellent patient care
This position offers the opportunity for an all-round GP vet type role with both medicine and surgery aspects, or we are able to accommodate a consult only/medicine bias if preferred.
The ideal candidate would be a skilled vet who is happy with sole charge, can consult efficiently and who can perform at least basic surgeries. Excellent client care, and the ability to work alone as well as part of a larger team, is a must.
The Area:
The market town of Petersfield is set in the heart of the South Downs National Park. There are plenty of theatre, music, art and sport opportunities both within Petersfield and its surrounding villages. The town is also blessed with a fabulous range of pubs, cafes and restaurants so there’s plenty to see and do!
We have great travel links by car with the A3 & A272 intersect just outside Petersfield, and there are direct trains to London Waterloo (65 minutes) and Portsmouth (30 minutes). We’re well connected by local bus services and there are also National Express coach services to London Victoria.
