The Role
Pilgrim Vets has an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their busy practice! The successful candidate will cover a wide range of veterinary duties such as;
- Consultations, home visits, medical workups, procedures, surgery, and inpatients of a wide range of species
- Advising owners on optimal welfare of their animals through building strong client relationships and proactive client communication
- Triaging and managing emergency and hospitalised cases out of hours

Here at Pilgrim Vets, we strive to make sure our staff have an excellent work/life balance; therefore, full time position working 4 days, with 1:4 out of hours cover on a shared rota.
The salary for this position is up to £55,000 DOE
About Us
We are a progressive, country practice based in Fordingbridge, near the beautiful New Forest National Park and Cranborne, and within easy reach of gorgeous south coast beaches. We offer a relaxed and supportive working environment, and our practice is equipped with excellent facilities including DR digital x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, laser, and separate dog and cat wards.
We are 6 experienced vets, with support from a great team including 2 advanced diploma nurses. As a close-knit team, we are always available to provide support and advice (or just cake!) to each other when needed. We have close relations with WVS and love to help with local community events.
Applicant Requirements
We are happy to accept applications from experienced veterinary surgeons or recent graduates. Our ideal candidate will be hardworking, friendly, and prioritise client care. Confidence with basic surgery is preferred however support will be offered. We encourage an evidence-based approach to cases and development in specific areas of veterinary care will be supported.
