What You’ll Do
This is a varied Vet Surgeon role with a genuine mix of consults and surgery, suited to someone who enjoys working at pace and making a tangible difference. You’ll:
- Deliver high-quality consultations and pragmatic, welfare-led clinical decision-making
- Build strong treatment plans and manage cases through from workup to follow-up
- Develop hands-on surgical capability across routine and more complex procedures
- Contribute to safe, consistent standards of patient care and client communication in a high-demand setting
- Progress through a structured Veterinary Surgeon Skills Development Framework, with formal annual review and clear development milestones
Surgical exposure
You’ll gain experience in procedures including:
- Soft tissue surgery (e.g., pyometra, cystotomy, enterotomy, enucleation, caesarean section)
- Orthopaedics (e.g., cruciate repair, FHNE, hip reduction, fracture management)
- Dentistry (routine to more advanced surgical extractions)
- Emergency and complex surgical case management, with a pathway to develop further across soft tissue, orthopaedics, ophthalmic surgery and complex reconstructive work (as skills progress)
Working pattern & package
- Full-time, permanent
- 37.5 hours per week
- Salary £47,069–£61,862 (including allowances)

- Separate dog and cat kennelling
- In-house radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy

About you
- MRCVS registered
- Experience delivering high-quality patient and client care
- Confident in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Comfortable using clinical systems
- Ideally 12 months’ UK small animal practice experience
