We have an exciting opportunity to join us at Poultry Health Services -one of the largest dedicated commercial poultry and game bird practices in the UK.
About us:
Poultry Health Services was founded in 2018, our main practice is in Sheriff Hutton, North Yorkshire with 6 other bases country wide plus two in house laboratories and a biosecurity company within the group.
Our core work is with commercial poultry farms supplying eggs and meat to supermarkets. We also work for poultry genetic companies and offer consultancy to a number of bodies including pharma companies and research institutions.

The Role:
This is a full-time, permanent position, for an RCVS registered vet, based at our Leominster practice in Herefordshire.
Working hours are 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday with 1:4 weekends on call after training.
Salary – dependent on experience in other disciplines and qualifications
**This opportunity offers a good life to work balance compared with other veterinary disciplines and offers rapid career progression for those wanting more responsibility within the practice.
Duties include:
- Diagnostics via postmortems, farm visits and laboratory work
- Routine visits for veterinary health and welfare plans, schemes such as Lion Code and Red Tractor
- Surveillance visits for disease outbreaks such as Avian Influenza
- Occasional export certification
- Data analysis and epidemiology
- Developing relationships with clients and applying innovative approaches to optimise health and welfare

We are a large, friendly and supportive team. Our experienced vets have a range of post-graduate qualifications and areas of expertise.
Your career development and growth are important to us and CPD is actively encouraged, with at least one international CPD per year. At Poultry Health Services we support applicants that wish to undertake further qualifications.
Could you be our ideal candidate?
Ideally, we’re looking for an experienced poultry vet or a small animal/farm vet with post graduate experience as many of your skills are transferable to poultry, and specific poultry medicine training will be given.

A little about our team:
At our Leominster practice, which covers the whole of the Hereford area, and parts of Shropshire and Wales, our fabulous team comprises of 2 experienced Vets, 1 Practice Manager, a Senior Administrator and a Vet tech. We work collaboratively and get together for monthly clinical clubs.
