fantastic opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, long‑established group of small animal practices across the Medway Towns. This role offers excellent flexibility, strong clinical support and the chance to help develop and grow a practice site as part of a collaborative, experienced team.

The group has been serving the local community for decades and is known for its supportive culture, continuity of care and wide range of clinical interests. With a strong leadership structure and a genuinely welcoming team, this is an ideal environment for a vet who enjoys first‑opinion work, client communication and working cases up to a high standard.

The Role
Full‑time or part‑time hours are available, with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Fridays are essential, and the weekend rota is 1 in 3 Saturdays, consulting only (9:00–16:00 or 9:00–12:30), with time off in lieu. There is no out‑of‑hours work.

You will work primarily between two sites, one of which is currently consulting‑only and due to return to full clinical operations as the team expands. There is also the opportunity to take on some sole charge and help re‑establish a branch, giving you the chance to put your own stamp on the site and grow it into a thriving practice.

The caseload is varied, with opportunities to work cases up in‑house, discuss treatment plans with owners, and book non‑routine surgeries or diagnostics. The group also works closely with local Cats Protection centres, making this an excellent role for someone with an interest in charity or community work.

The Team
You will be joining a large, supportive clinical team including:

• 11 Veterinary Surgeons
• 14 RVNs
• 2 PCAs
• 2 Student Nurses
• 18 Client Care team members

Many colleagues have been with the group for 30–40 years, reflecting the positive culture and strong sense of teamwork. There are two Lead Vets across the group, plus dedicated nurse and client care leads at each site.

Location
The Medway Towns offer a great balance of coast, countryside and easy access to London. The area is rich in history, with independent cafés, riverside walks and excellent transport links. High‑speed rail services reach London in around 35–45 minutes.

Candidate Requirements

• RCVS‑registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Minimum 3–5 years’ UK small animal experience preferred
• Confident managing a varied first‑opinion caseload
• Comfortable with occasional sole charge
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player
• Proactive approach to case management and clinical standards
• Interest in further study or community/charity work welcomed
