The new leadership team at My Vets welcome applications from enthusiastic vet surgeons to apply to join our Blackburn & Darwen surgeries. You will see a great mix of both routine, medical and surgical cases working alongside our existing team of experienced veterinary surgeons, RVNs and support staff. Full operating facilities, diagnostic imaging including a dental x-ray, alongside a well-equipped lab.

-    A salary of up to £70,000.

A typical full time role would be between 35 to 40 hours per week, including Saturday working on a maximum of a 1 in 4 rota basis. Your weekday working week would be split over 4, set days and would be between the hours of 8.30am and 6.30pm.


At our Blackburn surgery, you can expect to join a team of 2 veterinary surgeons and 3 RVNs, whilst at our Darwen surgery we have a veterinary surgeon and 2 RVNs  , with both sites bolstered by support staff. Team growth is anticipated to allow for an expansion of services. We can consider applications from those looking for both full and part time roles but we are open to discuss particular working pattern requests or individual working preferences, such as consulting only. We understand the requirement for flexibility within our industry and are delighted to have the infrastructure to nurture this.

A stone’s throw away from the Ribble Valley, Blackburn and Darwen is in a central location to amenities that would suit all tastes. It has easy, direct transport links to the centre of Manchester and Leeds and is within one hour’s driving distance to the Fylde coast, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.

The branch offers exciting prospects for those looking to join as the role will have development and growth opportunities. We would encourage advanced certificates or specific CPD to support those looking to enhance their clinical skills, in an environment capable of adapting to match!  At My Vets, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of care to our patients and our clinical team is instrumental in delivering that ethos. 

We are a multisite practice situated across Lancashire. We have 6 operating branches in addition to our main RCVS Tier 3 accredited hospital – all our branches are accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. Our core senior team is made up of certificate holders in Medicine and Surgery and we actively encourage and support Certificate study. We have a talented team of 11 Veterinary Surgeons, supported by an extensive team of Registered Veterinary Nurses and Animal Nursing Assistants.

Our hospital in Clayton le Dale is well equipped with a CT scanner, advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, digital X-ray, dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre. The area has great transport links and is within 1 hour of Manchester and Liverpool airport and you can be in London within 2hrs on the train. Lancashire has a good mix of rural vs city. Clayton Le Dale boasts some of the best hidden gems of walking country and locally offers a broad selection of traditional pubs, restaurant, cafes and shops.
