GVC is assisting a modern 24-hour veterinary hospital in Leicestershire with the recruitment of an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon for a highly attractive part-time, sole-charge ECC role.
This is a rare opportunity for a confident all-rounder looking for true work–life balance, extended time off between shifts, or a role that fits around travel, family commitments, or personal projects.
🕘 The Role
- Night Veterinary Surgeon – sole charge
- Saturday, Sunday & Monday nights
- 7pm – 9am (including a 1-hour paid break)
- Working pattern: 3 consecutive nights once every 25 days
- Average of 10.5 hours per week
- This rota provides exceptional flexibility, with over three weeks off between shifts.
🏥 The Practice
- You’ll be working within a state-of-the-art 24-hour hospital, opened in 2024 and fully equipped for emergency and critical care, including:
- Orthopaedic kit
- Brand-new ultrasound
- Digital & dental X-ray
- Endoscopy
- Tonometer
- Modern ECC facilities throughout
- This is a sole-charge emergency role, ideal for a vet who enjoys autonomy, clinical variety, and the challenge of managing emergency cases independently overnight.
💷 Salary & Benefits
- Up to £19,687.50 per year (based on £75,000 FTE, prorated)
- Annual leave rolled into salary

👩⚕️ Candidate Requirements
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Confident working sole charge
- Strong all-rounder with ECC, medical and surgical experience
- Comfortable managing emergency cases independently
- Able to provide clear client communication and clinical handovers
- Demonstrates clinical leadership and professionalism
