My client is a specialist musculoskeletal clinic based in Leicestershire looking for a second Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing, forward-thinking team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet with a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in small animal practice who has a genuine interest in musculoskeletal health, arthritis management, and multimodal pain management.
The role focuses on personalised arthritis treatment and mobility improvement, including Objective Gait Analysis and orthobiologic therapies – full training will be provided. This is not a surgical orthopaedic role – my client is looking for someone passionate about advanced, non-surgical musculoskeletal care.
Key Benefits:
- £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
- 10% salary bonus linked to clinic performance and individual KPIs
- No out-of-hours, emergency, or weekend work
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week, flexibility available for part-time or compressed hours)
- Company pension scheme
- Death in service benefit
- Employee discounts
- On-site parking
- Generous CPD allowance with specific training in Objective Gait Analysis and intra-articular therapies
- 5 weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays
- Paid half-day off on your birthday
- Full VDS cover and RCVS fees paid
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 3-4 years post-qualification experience in small animal practice
- Interest in musculoskeletal and arthritis management (no surgical orthopaedic experience required)
- Proficient in general veterinary skills, ideally with some musculoskeletal ultrasound experience
- Comfortable with client engagement in extended, hour-long consultations
- Passionate about evidence-based medicine and a multidisciplinary approach
- Willing to present research or CPD sessions (training and support provided)
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills in a focused, supportive environment with an excellent work-life balance.
