Veterinary Surgeon – 24-Hour Small Animal Hospital
Hours: 40-hour week | Full-Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join the collaborative, long-standing team at a busy 24-hour small animal hospital. This RCVS-accredited hospital offers a truly varied caseload, from routine consults and surgeries through to complex medical workups and emergency/critical care cases.
With a CT scanner, ultrasound, endoscopy, x-ray, and a full in-house lab, the hospital is well-equipped to support advanced diagnostics and treatment. Vets also have opportunities to assist with and perform advanced surgeries, including laparoscopic procedures, soft tissue work vand orthopaedics.
What You’ll Be Doing
Delivering a mix of consultations, surgeries, and ECC cases in a 24-hour hospital setting
Managing high caseloads with support from an experienced team
Handling emergencies and thinking on your feet in a fast-paced environment
Working collaboratively with colleagues and mentoring junior vets/nurses
What They’re Looking For
MRCVS-registered vet with minimum 2 years’ UK (or equivalent) experience
Confident managing varied cases independently, including ECC
Interest in medicine and/or ultrasonography welcomed but not essential
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Hours & Rota
40-hour week
1 in 6 weekends
