Are you an experienced veterinarian with a passion for leadership, looking to make a real impact in a non-commercial environment? This is your opportunity to lead a compassionate team and provide vital care to animals in need, while contributing to the wellbeing of pet owners facing challenging circumstances.
About the Role:
As the Head of Clinic, you’ll manage a dedicated team of veterinary professionals at this animal charity in London. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality care at this well-equipped clinic, which supports both the animals in their rehoming centre and provides free preventative treatments to the local community.
In addition to clinical work, you’ll lead and support initiatives like our Community Support Programme, Pet Refuge Scheme, and Therapaws Therapy Pet Programme, which provide essential services to vulnerable people and their pets. You’ll balance hands-on clinical duties with management responsibilities, making a genuine difference to both animals and the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team of vets and nurses.
- Oversee the daily operations of the clinic, including surgeries, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Deliver practical, compassionate care to animals in our rehoming centre and local pets.
- Provide strategic advice on veterinary matters and help shape future programmes.
- Allocate time between clinical duties and management tasks efficiently.
About You:
- MRCVS-registered, with at least 5 years of clinical experience.
- Confident in performing routine surgeries and diagnostics.
- Experienced in clinic management and team leadership.
- Flexible, with excellent time-management and prioritisation skills.
- Able to work independently and comfortable taking sole charge when necessary.
Why Join? This role offers a rare opportunity to lead in the charity sector, allowing you to gain invaluable experience while contributing to the welfare of both animals and their owners.
- A 35-hour workweek for work-life balance.
- Opportunities to work in a supportive, community-focused environment.
- A competitive salary and benefits package, including additional pay for light on-call duties (limited to animals in care).
If you’re ready to take on a leadership role that combines veterinary expertise with a mission to help vulnerable animals and people, we want to hear from you!
