Nationwide company and a leading provider of export health certificates for the export of food and other products of animal origin from United Kingdom are seeking an Official Veterinarian to join the North Team in the Manchester Area. No experience is required, as full comprehensive training and support will be provided. However, keen for applicants with previous export experience to apply and applicants must live in Manchester or be happy to relocate to Manchester. Candidates may wish to progress their career to a position with additional responsibilities or supervisory/managerial roles. A good eye for detail, flexibility and a willingness to travel where needed are the main requirements. You will be using your veterinary knowledge to ensure the safety of public and animal health.

Day to day tasks will include:

Checking of products on sites

Review of supporting evidence provided to sign EHCs

Reading relevant legislation and guidance notes

Stamping and signing of EHCs

Dealing with any exporter queries/advice

Maintaining a good working relationship with other staff on the sites

The work will be a mix of on-site work, travel and some home based work. The majority of locations will be less than 1-1.5 hours travel. Full time (40 hour) or part time/job share applications for this role considered. The work is usually between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, however some days might be short days, other days may be longer, within the week. There is also no abattoir work involved. There may occasionally be opportunities to travel and work at other locations within the UK. You will need to be a qualified veterinary surgeon and hold, or be willing to take, the Improve International OCQ courses ES, EX and PX. Skilled worker visa application supported as well as relocation package available if required. A full driving license and own car are essential.
