Veterinary Surgeon – Brand New Small Animal Practice – Manchester Area
GVC are excited to be assisting with the launch of a brand-new, community-focused veterinary practice on the outskirts of Manchester, set to open mid-November.
This privately-invested practice is designed to offer affordable, high-quality veterinary care without KPIs, pressure, or unnecessary targets—just excellent care for pets. The owner, currently training to be a vet, is passionate about building a welcoming, client-focused environment.
The Role
- Start date: Mid-November (open to early discussions)
- Hours: 4-day week, highly flexible; some Saturdays
- Caseload: Routine consultations and surgery
- Responsibilities: Must be confident working sole charge; able to manage the clinic independently
- Work alongside 1 RVN/Practice Manager, with plans to recruit another team member
Practice Features
- Digital X-ray, dental equipment, and standard clinical tools
- Community-focused philosophy: providing affordable care and building lasting relationships with clients
- Open to marketing input: contribute to building the client base and shaping the practice
- Computer systems: LUPA
- Salary: From £50,000, dependent on experience
- No accommodation provided; ideally looking for local Vets
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 3 years’ small animal experience, able to work independently without support
- Local or easily commutable to the Manchester outskirts (approx. 30 minutes from Old Trafford)
- Passionate about client care, surgery, and running a busy community-focused practice
- Preferably no visa restrictions, to ensure smooth licencing and registration
Additional Information
OOH coverage handled by other vets (4PM–9AM), so no on-call commitments for the new vet
Involved in launching and shaping a brand-new practice from the ground up
